Career so far
I've spent my first three months working as a PSA and have attended a course on presentation skills, which was great because I met all the other graduates around Kimberly-Clark.
What do you do in your current role?
There are the standard works that have to be performed on a monthly and quarterly basis, such as spend and cost analyses, production reports etc.
However, I also work closely with other teams to calculate product alterations, perform stock counts in the stores to ensure compliance with SOX, as well as handle various ad-hoc tasks such as automating aspects of the month end processes.
What's your greatest achievement?
As part of the cost transformation team, I was given the challenge of identifying potential savings and driving efficiency. I pinpointed cost savings exceeding £25,000.
What have you been most surprised by?
Even though you're working for a multinational company, the communication throughout the organisation is excellent and everyone's always willing to help.
What's been the biggest challenge?
Coordinating the annual engineering spare parts store count was a complicated challenge. And calculating the CONAI (Italian Environment Tax on packaging) involved liaising with the Packaging Team, Technicians, the Romangano Mill and Planners.
Where do you see yourself in three years?
I will have completed the scheme and my professional qualification, so I'd hope to be in an Analyst role.
What advice do you have for interested graduates?
Always ask questions and share your thoughts with others.
