FAQs - The schemes
Q: What happens when I finish the scheme?
We guarantee a permanent job for you once you've finished the scheme. The job you're offered will depend on our business requirements; but we'll discuss your preferences with you and, where possible, match them to our business needs. After that, we'll expect you to continue performing exceptionally and develop your skills and experience as you move up through our organisation.
Q: Can I undertake a professional qualification alongside the scheme?
There may be the chance to complete a professional qualification if it's relevant to your role. However, aside from Graduates on the Finance scheme (who study CIMA), it's not expected.
Q: How are the schemes structured?
The schemes last for two years (three for Finance). During this time, you'll take on placements lasting between six and nine months. These placements will expose you to different functions within your chosen area. There's a degree of flexibility to the placements, and we'll always take into consideration your preferences of function and the area you wish to work in.
Q: What training will I receive?
All our graduates attend our 'Welcome to K-C' programme, which is a two-day introduction to Kimberly-Clark. You'll also be offered additional leadership and other 'soft skill' training to help you develop your expertise. In turn, there'll be full training on any specific systems you use in your day-to-day work, and further courses are available on request.
Q: What support will I receive?
You'll be assigned a buddy or mentor for the first 12 months on the scheme. They'll give you day-to-day support, and will be there to help you with any aspect of your role and life at Kimberly-Clark. You'll also be able to call on your peers, team leader and Graduate Development Manager for honest advice.
The Kimberly-Clark Personal Development Plan will also play a key role in your support. It's a two-year training programme which involves completing modules with Graduates and other KC employees that start at the same time as you.
Aside from all that, you'll find a highly supportive and friendly environment here, where you can ask for help and guidance from colleagues as well as managers.
